The IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT) is an annual forum for the exchange of ideas and recent advances in innovative antenna technologies. The workshop particularly focuses on small antennas and the application of advanced and artificial materials in antenna design. At iWAT, all oral presentations are delivered by invited leading researchers and professors, ensuring a high-quality and focused technical programme. The workshop also places strong emphasis on poster presentations, providing authors with valuable opportunities to interact closely with leading experts and researchers in their fields.

iWAT 202 continues a long-standing series of successful annual international workshops held in Singapore (2005), White Plains, USA (2006), Cambridge, UK (2007), Chiba, Japan (2008), Santa Monica, USA (2009), Lisbon, Portugal (2010), Hong Kong, China (2011), Tucson, USA (2012), Karlsruhe, Germany (2013), Sydney, Australia (2014), Seoul, Korea (2015), Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA (2016), Athens, Greece (2017), Nanjing, China (2018), Miami, USA (2019), Bucharest, Romania (2020), Dublin, Ireland (2022), Aalborg, Denmark (2023), Sendai, Japan (2024), Florida, USA (2025) and Liverpool, UK(2026).

With great pleasure, we welcome you to the 23nd edition of the IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT 2027), which will be held at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece, from May 11th–13th, 2027. Thessaloniki is Greece’s second-largest city and the capital of the Central Macedonia region. Known as the “co-capital”, it is a major economic and cultural hub in Southeastern Europe with a history spanning over 2,300 years. The city is renowned for its festivals, events, and vibrant cultural life in general. Thessaloniki is a port city on the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. Evidence of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman history remains, especially around Ano Poli, the upper town.

As before, in addition to invited talks, the iWAT 2027 emphasizes interactive poster sessions, offering participants valuable opportunities to engage directly with leading researchers and experts in their fields. We have set two different awards: the Best Paper Award will be given to the best standard paper presented at the conference, while the Best Student Paper Awards will be offered to students who demonstrate outstanding contributions through high-quality research, further encouraging innovation and excellence.

We look forward to welcoming you to Thessaloniki for iWAT 2027 and sharing an exciting and rewarding experience together.

The iWAT 2027 Conference will be held at the Aristotle University Research Dissemination Center (KEDEA) Tritis Septemvriou Str. – University Campus 546 36 THESSALONIKI.
